What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) On August 7, 1998, a Cessna 172N, operated by airwest flying club, was substantially damaged while attempting to land at Jeffco Airport (bjc). Weather was not a factor in this accident. While trying to land, the aircraft began porpoising and subsequently bent the nose gear, buckled the firewall, bending the engine mount, and wrinkling the cowling and fuselage skin. The pilot was still able to taxi the aircraft to the ramp, and no one was injured. This was the pilots first landing with passengers, after his initial check-out in this aircraft.
