From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(From .19) acft crashed on landing under unknown circumstances after aerial application. (From .4) at the conclusion of the flight, the pilot was landing on a farm airstrip. The airstrip had a high standing crop of barley adjacent to the airstrip. During the landing roll, the right wing spray boom contacted the crop, and the airplane pivoted to the right. The airplane received damage to the left wing leading edge, the aileron, and wing ribs.(-23) wings on the aircraft are wider than the runway width. With the crop higher than normal, the spray boom drug into the crop and pulled the aircraft to the right. The pilot was not able to keep the aircraft rolling straight down the runway. As the aircraft pulled sharply to the right the left wing dropped and struck the ground hard enough to cause structural damage to the wing spar.

As the FAA filed it
