From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5) Aala B-727-223, registration number n 6835, operating as flight 2014 arrived at Chicago ohare international airport (ord), Chicago, Illinois at 1704 local time. Upon landing runway 22R the numbers 3 and 4 main landing gear (MLG) tires failed causing the aircraft to veer to the right and the aircraft to list right. The aircraft was stopped on the runway. The passengers deplaned normally and were bussed to the terminal. The tires were replaced and the aircraft was taxied to the gate. The aircraft was removed from service for inspection and evaluation. Initial investigation found the #3 engine was seized possibly due to tire ingestion. The trailing edge flaps adjacient to the right MLG and the right MLG doors were damaged. The trailing edge flap operating torque tube was bent and dented. The right wing inboard trailing edge flap jack screw fairing was dented and cracked. Further investigation revealed the aircraft had departed bna prior to the arrival at ord. The bna tower personnel reported the aircraft had aborted the initial take-off from runway 20R prior to departure from bna due to a door light problem. The o.a.t. at bna was 90 to 91 degrees. The aircraft did not return to the gate. After a 15 to 20 minute wait the flight departed bna for ord. It should be noted that on arrival at ord there was a log book discrepancy initiated by the flihgt crew indicating the aft entry door vibrates loose on taxi, handle does not seat properly. A request has been initiated for the bna tower tape and controllers statement. Also a request has been made of aala for the flight recorder information. The exact cause of the wheel failure on landing at ord has not been determined at this time.
