From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

(-23) a home built aircraft, weber-mustang ii, N10AW ran off a narrow and uneven Private airstrip runway, located approximately five miles south of the Taft/kern airport, Taft CA. The right wing was substantially distorted and wrinkled with possible spare damage. The bottom fuselage and wing surfaces may have substantial damage, inspection of the aircraft bottom surfaces could not be conducted at the crash site, because of aircraft position relative to the terrain.
