From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After takeoff from Palm Springs airport, at approximately 1900 PST, the aircraft experienced intermittent loss of electrical power. Upon return to the airport the pilot was able to make an uneventful emergency landing. Investigation of the problem, by a mechanic, revealed that the connector for the ground wire from the battery had minor corrosion and was not adequately tightened. The combination of the corrosion and the connector not being completely secured caused the intermittent loss of electrical power. The problem was eliminated when the connector was removed, cleaned and reinstalled.

As the FAA filed it
