From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot lost control of the acft while attempting to land.(-23)the student pilot attempted a landing on runway 09 at Buhl, ID (U03). The wind was estimated to be 80 degrees at 10 knots. Reportedly, he ballooned and started to drift so he executed a go around. During the full power, full flap go-around he drifted slightly into the wind just off the left side of the runway. He then retracted the flaps whereby the airplane settled to the ground, impacting both wing tips and tipping onto the nose before settling down right-side up.
