From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5) While landing on runway 20 at Columbia Regional Airport, nose landing gear (NLG) collapsed causing damage to the nose section of the aircraft. The pilot stated that during the landing roll he heard a "popping" sound from the nose section of the aircraft, followed by the aircraft slowly settling on its nose and skidding to a stop. Pilot stated that all aircraft indications were normal up to that point. Maintenance tear down report of NLG actuator showed that it failed internally, causing the NLG to collapse. This incident # CE99IGA0007 is considered closed.
