From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During climb out froma gangeville, Idaho, approaching 14,000 ft. the right engine started to run a little rough and steadily got worse. The manifold pressure dropped and fuel flow went up. Power was reduced on the right engine and it smoothed out considerable. The engine was then shut down and feathered. (Pilot made the decision to shut the engine down because of a fuel leak problem on that engine the previous day and was concerned of a possible engine fire). An emergency was declared with ATC and the flight continued on to Missoula, Montana, and a single engine approach and landing was made without incident. Investigation by maintenance personnel revealed hose #639660-13 came off of the intercooler in the intake air induction system. The hose was reinstalled and the aircraft was returned to service.

As the FAA filed it
