From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot attempted to make a go-around and lost directional control of the acft. Other circumstances are unknown. (.4) the student pilot's second solo touch-and go-landing resulted in a bounced landing and violent nose wheel shimmy. He pulled slight back pressure to unload his nose wheel and lost directional control off the left side of the runway. The airplane collided with an intersecting taxiway, and collapsed the nose landing gear. Subsequent FAA examination revealed no discrepancies in the landing gear, braking, or steering systems. (-23)on 2-21-99 at 1625 hrs, pilot lost directional control of his aircraft while attempting to takeoff from rwy 35 at corprate airport 6JO, in Pelion, SC. The aircraft left the rwy leaving 250 ft of skid marks and came to rest north of taxiway c, next to the west side of the rwy. The pilot was a student on his first solo flight. The aircraft suffered substantial damage. There were no passengers and no injuries.
