From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot reported that he got a bit sideways during a wheel landing, returned for a 3-point landing followed by a go-around, and returned for another wheel landing. He said that the landing appeared to be under control until touchdown, at which time the airplane started to weathervane to the left. The wind reported by the tower at the time was 200 degrees at 4 knots. An interview with the pilot shortly after this incident indicated that he had accomplished a flight review on 3/28/98, had a complex airplane endorsement, and had received a tailwheel endorsement from james blake, CFI 340400107 on 2/19/99.
