From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On February 28, 1999, at 1123,central standard time, a manocoupe 90A airplane, NC11760, was substantially damaged when the left main landing gear collapsed during taxi after landing at Hicks airfield near Fort Worth, Texas. The airplane was registered to and operated by paisano, inc., of wilmington, Delaware. The airline transport rated pilot and this passenger were not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for the title 14 CFR part 91 local personal flight. According to the pilot, the airplane was taxiing at "2-3 mph" when the "right wing came up (and the) left gear collapsed." The pilot attributed the accident to a wind "gust". An FAA inspector examined the airplane and reported that the outboard section of the left wing sustained structural damage. (-23)on February 28, 1999, privacy data omitted was piloting a monocoupe aircraft, NC11760. Upon landing at hick field, Texas, the left gear broke during the landing rollout. This breakage resulted in the left wing making contact with the runway, cracking the spar. A partial ground loop occurred from the mishap. Further investiga tion revealed power stress fracture degradation with final breakage (fetting) during the landing. Pilotage was not a contributing factor in this mishap.

As the FAA filed it

(-23)ON FEBRUARY 28, 1999, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS PILOTING A MONOCOUPE AIRCRAFT, NC11760.
