From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5) The aircraft is a medical helicopter. At the time of the incident the aircraft was enroute to an accident scene. The pilot reports that as he began his decent for arrival at the accident scene he lowered the collective. As he did this he reports that the collective became "stiff" and then becam immovable. The pilot stated that he could not move the collective up or down. The pilot attempted to make it to lunken airport. He stated that he felt that it was questionable as to weather he could make lunken. He spotted a field and elected to make a precautionary landing.
