From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On take-off roll the pilot had input the right rudder. However, a left cross wind existed. The pilot says he started to release the right rudder and the aircraft started to drift to the left. The inspector believes that the left rudder was input because of wind direction. The inspector believes the pilot got confused about conditions and aborted the take-off. On abort, the aircraft drifted off the left edge of runway 29R, after rolling 1500'. The prop struck a mud bank. This inspector has discussed this incident with the student and the instructor and the instructor will provide additional crosswind training to this student.
