From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5) The aircraft touched down in a normal landing just past the runway numbers on runway 21 at W44 (Asheboro, NC). Approximately 1200 ft down the runway, the aircraft suddenly veered to the right and exited the runway. The aircraft continued down an embankment next to the runway and disappeared from view. The aircraft then reappeared approximately 2100 ft. from the runway as it came back up the embankment under full power. As the aircraft reached level ground, the nose was re-aligned with the runway heading and the left wing dropped. This caused the left wingtip to strike the ground. The aircraft became airborne again and then touched down on the right main landing gear. Once again the aircraft became airborne as the pilot continued with full power to execute a go-around. The aircraft gained altitude and flew a normal traffic pattern. The aircraft performed a low pass over the runway for a gear check. The aircraft flew another pattern and landed on runway 21 without further incident.

As the FAA filed it
