From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5)A vanguard Boeing 737-222 aircraft (a/c), N603DJ returned to mci after #2 engine failed to reach climb power without exceeding the EGT limit. The a/c was performing a reduced epr thrust takeoff and EGT for #2 engine was in the yellow band. During lift-off the EGT exceeded 625 degrees for 15 seconds and the engine throttle was reduced to get the EGT back into the green range. As climb power required a setting that would cause the EGT to climb and exceed to limits the pilot elected to return to mci. Outside air temperature was 24 degrees centigrade. Maintenance determined that the EGT indicatng system was functioning correctly and therefore an engine change has been scheduled. Incident CE99IAC0065 is considered closed.
