From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was a private pleasure flight on a VMC day in a tail wheel equipped aircraft. The pilot did not file a flight plan. The aircraft departed oxford, CT. Airport (oxc) and proceeded to Millbrook/sky Acres (44N) arriving at approx. 1030L. The pilot called UNICOM and was informed that traffic was landing on runway 17. The wind was approx. 330 at 8 knots. Approach and landing were normal. On roll out, at about normal taxi speed, the a/c veered to the right and departed the paved runway surface. The pilot attempted to counter the yaw with rudder and brake. The aircraft traveled approx. 20 feet on the grass adjacent to the runway and came to rest, upright, down a 25 foot emebankment.
