From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Sunday, August 8, 1999, an experimental aircraft, model Cozy, N32HL landed short of runway 26R at Chino Airport, Chino California. The pilot stated that the nose wheel came off due to the debonding of the casting to the fiberglass strut. The aircraft continued straight down runway for about 1000 feet, the aircraft came to rest and the only damage was the nose strut and a crack in the weld of the electric landing gear actuator. The pilot stated that he landed short of runway 26R and hit the end of the runway which cause the excessive loading on the nose gear assembly. The pilot stated he will be scheduling his biannual flight review next week.
