What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot indicated, during telephone conversation, that the descent for approach was so rapid that pressurization was not completed so he elected to execute a missed approach to allow the pressurization to catch up. Suring second approach to runway pilot stated a normal approach and landing was conducted. During the landing the right brake was spongy and failed, causing aircraft to exit off the end of runway. Aspen tower personnel statement indicate that the aircraft was very fast on a three (3) mile final. Aircraft touched down approximately 2500 feet down runway 15. ATC statements indicated aircraft was not slowing down in normally observed manner. Pilot reported a brake failure on tower voice tapes. FAA did not participate in an on scene investigation due to lack of funding for inspector travel.
