From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acftcrashed under unknown circumstances on a grass strip. The pilot suffer ed fatal injuries, the passenger has serious injuries, the acft was destroyed. (.19)on August 13, 1999, about 1730 eastern standard time, a Beech B-58, N24DB, registered to delta fox, inc., operating as a title 14 CFR part 91 personal flight, crashed while landing at Wakulla County Airport, Panacea, flordia. Visual meterorological conditions prevailed and no fligth plan had been filed. The airplane received substantial damage, the airline transport-rated pilot suffered fatal injuries, and a passenger suffered minor injuries. The flight originated from griffin, Georgia, about 1 hour 10 minutes before the accident. According to a pilot who landed on runway 18 at Wakulla county about 20 minutes before the accident, he could see a thunderstrom fast approaching the field from the west. Light rain began sprinkling the airport just before the accident, and the wind shifted from the south to the north. The accident aircraft landed downwind on runway 18, touchdown ha lf-way down the runway, and skidded off the end, through a chain-link fence and into a thicket of oak trees. (.4)according to an airpark resident and pilot who landed on th e same, single 2,280 foot sod runway about 20 minutes before the accident, thunderstorms were rapidly approaching the airport from the west. Light rain began falling and the wind shifted from south to north. The accident airplane was observed to enter a left base for runway 18 from overhead the airport and touch down about the mid point of the runway. The passenger stated that the pilot, himself, yelled to her to hold on, that they weren't going to get stopped. The airplane skidded off the end of the runway, through a chain link fence, and into a thicket of trees. The tree collision destroyed the right wing and the nose section, displacing the instrument panel rearward. Postcrash examination of the airplane's engines, engine controls, propellers, brake system, and flight control systems revealed no precrash failures or malfunctions. (-23) on August 13, 1999, at 1730 EDT, a Beech 58, N24DB, registered to delta fox, inc., overshot the grass runway and crashed through a chain link fence and oak trees, at Wakulla County Airport while on a personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and a VFR flight plan was filed. The aricraft was destroyed. The pilot was fatal and the passenger sustained minor injuries.
