From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acft made forced landing in trees after a power failure, minor injury (-23) the pilot stated he had completed two normal take offs and landings. On the third take off after turning for left base prior to landing the engines lost all power. The RPM dropped completely and the prop started wind-milling. He stated when he saw it was obvious he wasn't going to make the airport he accomplished the emergency check list and prepared for a landing in a wooded area off the end of the runway 23. The a/c crashed in the trees, coming to rest inverted. This matter considered closed, see block 40.
