From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was on a ferry flight from clarksville, Ohio to eureka, California, stopped in rushville, Nebraska and picked up a relative and flew to Gordon, Nebraska to get fuel. After topping off the fuel tank with 16 gallons of fuel, the pilot attempted to take off runway 04 heading northeast, the aircraft struggled to climbout and the pilot realized the sink rate was starting to become larger. The pilot then attempted to perform an emergency landing in an alfalfa field. Damage to the aircraft was minor, the propeller sheared off on impact and the main landing gear was also shaved off. The pilot and passenger were uninjured.
