From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Prior to push back, contract maintenance changed the left quantity fuel guage, push back was on time. Three miles out, the left aircraft engine indicated a fire. Crew shut down engine, declared an emergency, and returned to stl. Aircraft landed and upon stopping, the left brakes froze. Company shuttled passengers to terminal. Aircraft could not be moved, so contract maintenance was called. They jacked the gear, and separated the brakes with a screwdriver to cool them. Aircraft was then towed to stl delta ramp. Company dispatched maintenance crew from msp. (Stl mechanics were not contacted). Crew found engine t-duct had blown out and caused the overheat indication. The duct was changed. Aircraft departed stl at 10:30 pm.
