From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The student pilot was practicing touch and go landings. He made a three point landing on 25R with wind from his left, as he opened the throttle to continue the touch and go, a wind gust from the left caused the tail to move right, turning the plane left, skidding on the right main landing gear and onto the dirt. There was minor damge to the aircraft. Rivets popped from the right door post, the right main landing gear was damaged, the right main wheel pan was damaged, and the tail wheel assembly was broken.
