From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot informed ATC shortly after takeoff from 29D (grove city, PA) that he had a landing gear problem. Nose gear was not locked and main gear status (locked/not locked) unknown. Pilot elected to land cxy (Capital City pa), runway 08, gear-up. Aircraft damage - belly - both propellers "q-tip", both engines - sudden stoppage, right side enter step broke, battery vent broke, belly antennas broke. Accupants were pilot and his son - no injuries. Maintenance evaluation of landing gear system determined that nose gear retract drag brace broke (prior to landing.) Note: this drag brace is not the new style (a forging type construction), the installed type was the older style which is bubular construction. The tube had heavy internal rust.
