From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On September 8, 1999, at approx. 2130 EDT, a Piper PA-28-236, N419CC, sustained minor damage as a result of impacting a barricade during taxi at the Lexington Blue Grass Airport, Lexington, KY. The airplane was operating in night VMC weather conditions and had just completed an IFR flight plan under 14 CFR 91 from dayton, OH. The pilot stated that he listed to Lexington's ATIS report "bravo" on approach to the airport. The pilot stated that he had received information concerning the taxiway closure, but failed to pay any attention to what taxiway was closed. According to the pilot of the airplane, he was instructed by ATC after landing on runway 4 to taxi via taxiway "alpha" to the ramp. The pilot taxied the airplane as instructed, however to get to the ramp he had to follow either taxiway "bravo" or "charlie" from "alpha". The first 250 feet of taxiway "bravo" was closed due to construction. The pilot subsequently turned onto taxiway "bravo" impacting a barricade. Damage to the aircraft was confined to the propeller and barricade only. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. Weather at the time of the incident was VFR. Nothing follows
