From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During approach to the Boise Idaho airport (boi) the engine quit. The pilot made an emergency forced landing on a road approx. 10 miles south of the airport. During the landing, the aircraft went off the road and through a barbed wire fence which was supported by steel posts. The right flap, right aileron, right fuel drop tank and the right lower wing skin received minor damage. Investigation showed that contamination in the fuel system double acting pressure relief valve did not allow the valve to close properly. This prevented the fuel system from pressurizing which would not allow on board extra fuel to transfer to the main feeder tank. Fuel to the engine is only available from the main tank and it was empty.
