From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The flight instructor/commercial pilot was conducting a flight review to a private pilot. They conducted a visual (no view limiting device) GPS approach to runway 22 at Easton airport. On the procedure turn, the flight instructor observed the private extend the landing gear. On short final to runway 22, the flight instructor checked to see that the gear was down and then told the private pilot that he (the private pilot) could do a full stop landing or a touch and go landing. The private pilot stated that he was confused as to what the intentions of the flight instructor were and that he executed a go-around procedure lifting the nose, and retracting the landing gear and flaps. The flight instructor reported that he reduced the throttle and stated to the private pilot, "simulated loss of power." The flight instructor reported that he failed to check the gear. The airplane touched down on runway 22 with the gear retracted.
