From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 11/28/99, sun country airlines operated flight 408, a B-727 from Minneapolis to detroit. During initial climbout from msp, at approximately 25,000 ft. the flight engineer inadvertently closed the #1 and #3 engine bleed valves causing the aircraft to depressurize. Cabin altitude exceeded 14,000 ft and oxygen masks deployed in the cabin. An immediate descent was initiated and the aircraft descended to 10,000 ft at which time the captain noted that the bleed valves for engine #1 and #3 were closed. The bleed valves were opened and the aircraft began to pressurize normally. The flight was climbed to 23,000 ft and the remainder of the flight was conducted without incident.
