(-5) On November 30, 1999, at approximately 1415 EST a Mooney M20K landed with the landing gear retracted on runway 5 at the Elizabethtown airport, Elizabethtown, KY. The aircraft sustained minor damage and there was no injury to the pilot. The pilot stated that he heard the landing gear warning horn during the approach to landing, but the landing gear position indicators showed that the landing gear was extended. Additionally, the fixed based operator stated that she heard the landing gear warning horn over the UNICOM when the pilot was making radio calls in the traffic pattern. Upon initial inspection of the aircraft by a mechanic after the incident, he noted that the landing gear selector was in the down position, however, the landing gear motor circuit breaker was "tripped". Additionally, the mechanic noted that the navigation light switch was in the "on" position, which was confirmed by the pilot during the post incident interview. Post incident inspection of the landing gear system, including a function check, revealed no abnormalitites of the landing gear system or its indications. Weather at the time of the incident was VFR.
