From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Prager, a private pilot, ading as pilot in command of a Cessna 150-N7704VF, departed the salinas airport, salinas, California, on 12-32-1999 between the hours of 11:00 to 12:00 hours PST, with one passenger for a local sight seeing flight and no flight plan was filed.. While in the vicinity of huron, California, the aircraft engine began to run roughly. Unable to determine what the exact problem was, Mr. Prager made contact with another airborn aircraft pilot who advised that the Harris ranch airfield (308) was the closest point of landing. The assisting pilot called for emergency assistance from ground personnel and circles his aircraft over 308 until Mr. Prager landed safely without further problem. Mr. Prager did not communicate with any ATC facility during the incident and considered the landing precautionary. Post flight inspection determined the problem to be two stuck engine valves. The assisting police agencies (I.e. chp and sheriff) notified fat-twr-tracon. This incident is closed without further action.
