From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)Letter from pilot to FAA inspector: on March 3rd I had a hard landing wiht my plne resulting in a borken fork fo my nose gear. Only one side broke at first, then other side gave way sending the wheel sailing past the plane and landing on the grass next to the runway. After studying the broken parts, it was quite apparent tht htere was a hair crack tht has started previously, possibly when I was at maximum from seat load with two people. I have on order, new landing gear that will make my nose wheel assembly much stronger.
