From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)This aircraft was taxing around the ramp to burn off excess fuel when the nose gear collapsed. There was no flight intened. There has been approximately 51 other incidents of this kind to this type of aircraft. Some of the failures have caused fatalities. The part (nose gear retract rod) has been the focal point of defect to all of the 51 reported cases to AFS-620. The part should be redesigned in order to withstand the strees and not break. Problem area should have some type of non-destructive testing done at certain intervals.
