From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)On departure from ifp airport, pilot raised landing gear on amphibious floats and heard a "pop" noise. Aircraft had an unsafe landing gear indication. Pilot in the traffic pattern and extended the landing gear. Landing gear indicated an unsafe condition. Pilot made a pass by the tower for the tower to observe the landing gear. The tower noted no abnormal landing gear position. The pilot landed the airplane and on landing, the left landing gear strut collapsed with minor damage to the amphibious float. The aircraft departed the runway on landing. Additional damage to the float was caused when the aircraft was removed from the runway area.
