What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23)The aircraft, equipped with edo 89-1650 floats, nosed over and sank during taxi for takeoff on lake Hood, Alaska. While taxing and waiting for takeoff, the nose bumper separated from the right float which permitted some of the wood screws used to attach the bumper to the float to fall out allowing to flow into the front float compartment. This loss of floatation permittted the aircraft to nose over and roll onto its back and sink. The pilot and one passenger exited out of the aircraft and swam to shore.
