From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On April, 2001, at 4 pm local time, aircraft N22604, a Beech bonanza s/n E-1287, experienced a nose gear collapse after landing, while slowing for turn-off of runway 22 at st. Clair county airport (phn). The pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft, Mr. Jon richard strauchman, private pilot certificate no. 375629705, estimated his speed to be between 20 to 30 knots when the incident happened. The aircraft was removed from the runway/taxiway, and subsequently taken to aerodynamics inc. (ADI), in waterford, Michigan, for repair. On June 11, 2001, I spoke with Mr. Bob lemay, dom for ADI. He stated that the damaged areas on this aircraft included the propeller, the engine (sudden stoppage) and sheet metal in engine lower cowl area (tunnel and firewall not damaged). He indicated that the nose gear operated properly and was not damaged or broken, either prior to or after the landing incident. During an interview with the pilot in mid-may of 2001, I asked him to send me a brief statement of this incident. He has yet to do so.
