From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was a night instructional flight to build time in a multiengine aircraft for the student who received his multiengine rating land last month. The aircraft was returning to Vero Beach, FL airport after the tower closed. They made a straight in approach to runway 11R, following another twin. They landed gear-up, and never knew their gear was up until sliding down the runway. The gear was inspected by maintenance and all systems operated properly. The flight instructor will be given a 44709 and the pilot will be counseled.
