From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)Aircraft N548AT, an ATR-72, was being marshalled out of pad 14 on the American eagle parking ramp at the dfw international airport on June 17, 2001 by American eagle ground handling agent. The ground handling agent failed to ensure adequate wing tip clearance between N548AT and N498AT another ATR-72 parked on pad 13. The right wing tip on N548AT contacted the left wing tip of N498AT, causing minor damage to the ailerons of both aircraft.
