From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Departing sunriver Oregon, enroute to sea ranch, CA. Mr. Browning (PIC) approached runway 30. PIC stated that upon crossing the threshold area the wind changed directions and caused increased lift to the aircraft. The PIC stated that he was able to maintain control of the aircraft and touched-down approximately 300 to 400 feet past the threshold. As the aircraft neared the end of the runway the decision to stay on the ground was taken. The aircraft departed the end of the paved section and proceeded onto the grassfield.
