From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that just before take off at Yuma international airport, he adjusted his seat forward because he felt that he was too FAR back from the control pedals. Pilot stated that everything was going great and that he rolled up to the hold line and stopped and waited for an aircraft to land, he then proceeded to take off. Just as he lifted the nose off the ground, he stated the seat slid back, rendering him unable to manage the controls. The aircraft then settled back on the ground running off the runway strikng a runway sign. The tower asked if he wanted to declare an emergency and the pilot stated no, that he would just back to bet-ko-air air. The aircraft has only minor damage and no injuries to the pilot.
