From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) As stated by the pilot, he was attempting to taxi to rwy 32 at Millville airport, NJ (miv) when he proceeded to taxi around barricades and into a construction zone. Pilot then saw what he believed to be a 2 inch deep opening in the taxi way, spanning the width of the taxi way. He attempted to cross but opening was too high, approx 5 to 6 inches deep. Aircraft hit opening and snapped NLG aft shearing steering actuator from mount and leaking hyd fluid. Aircraft nosed over striking prop and severely twisted tips and blade roots. Prop spinner damaged and engine suffered sudden stoppage. No damage noted to engine mounts or firewall.
