The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Stearman PT-17 N1259V flown by spencer b. mamber was returning from a one hour sight-seeing ride with adam m. corns. Mr. Mamber set up for a normal landing on runway 14 at Aurora airpark. The stearman touched down in a tail low position but not a three point landing and began to drift off the left side of the runway. Mr. Mamber added power for a go-around and continued to drift off the east side of runway 14 in ground effect touching down once on the main wheels and bouncing back into ground effect. He then continued in ground effect for approximately .5 sm in a slow arc to the left where he managed to fly under a small set of powerlines, over a dirt road, then making contact with the left lower wing on a guide wire for a power pole on a different set of powerlines. The stearman spun horizontally to the left coming to rest in a wheat field.
