From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was on approach to runway 12. Pilot reported it had a high airspeed. As pilot began flare-out, aircraft settled to the runway at a high sink rate. Aircraft made hard contact with the runway and bounced back into the air. A total of three bounces occurred, during which time pilot reported hearing a noise coming from the front of the aircraft. Pilot stated that he thought aircraft had struck a runway light. After the third bounce, engine power was applied and the aircraft was flown around the traffic pattern for another landing attempt. A normal landing was accomplished without further incident. Upon investigation after engine shut-down, pilot discovered that propeller tips were bent, nose wheel was tilted, and two engine mounts were broken with a third bent.
