From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After completion of biannual check ride, pilot dropped instructor off at butler county airport (btp) and upon returning to selinsgrove, PA (seg), pilot noticed that when landing gear was lowered that there was no green indication for the nose wheel being down and locked. Pilot checked lamp, and did fly-by to confirm gear was down and straight. It could not be confirmed that nose wheel was straight so pilot elected to land at MDT to take advantage of wider runway. MDT tower dispatched emergency equipment, and an uneventful landing was madw with no injuries or damage to the aircraft. Aircraft was inspected and found to have broken wires at the nose wheel down limit switch. Ferry permit was issued for flight to repair facility.
