From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 10/19/01 @ 1245 EST while landing at Woodstock CT the pilot misjudged the winds and landed down wind and was unable to stop on the runway. The pilot stated in a written statement (attached) that he listened to worchester ATIS for winds which he interpreted as crosswinds at Woodstock Airport. The pilot said he prefers to land on runway 01 which turned out to be do wn wind and that he does go around from time to time and thought that this time he would be able to stop in time. Realizing that he would not be able to stop in time he attempted to ground loop the aircraft at the end of the runway in the grass and ended up on the side of a small hill facing down hill. The nose wheel collapsed and one propeller blade was bent. No injuries were reported.
