From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Prior to departing the north las vegas airport, PIC topped off the fuel tanks with 16 gallons of fuel. This allowed for a total of 26 gallons on his departure. The aircraft hobbs time indicated that 3.5 hours were flown. After flying for 3.5 hours, and when within 14 miles of mccarran airport, the engine quit due to fuel starvation. PIC attempted an emergency landing on a residential street and while approximately 10 feet off the ground his right wing struck a street light pole adjacent to the street. Contact with the pole immediately swung the aircraft to the right where it suddenly made contact with the surface in a slightly nose low attitude.
