From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot keith allen rahn certificate number 568680689, in a written statement stated that he landed on 10/25/01 at about 0730 at sba. Within 1 or 2 seconds after landing the nose gear retracted and the aircraft stopped. The three occupants exited. No one was injured and there were no fatalities. Also, there was no damage to any other property. The nose gear extension mechanism malfunctioned and as a result the nose gear did not stay in extended position. The nose gear extension mechanism was disconnected and the nose gear extended and was held in the fixed extended position. On 10/29/2001, I visited sba and found both LH and RH prop blades were bent backwards. The nose gear and its doors were found to be damaged. The nose cone and pitot tube were found to be damaged. The rest of the plane appeared to be ok. On 11/14/01 at sba the aircraft maintenance logbooks were inspected and were found to be current.
