From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot statement: on the evening of November 14, 2001, I was the pilot in command of a Hawker jet aircraft serial number 257209. This aircraft is united states registered as N805CD. I was contracted by the aircraft owner to perform a sales/demonstation flight for a prospective buyers of this aircraft. The demonstration flight was complete and the crew and two passengers were returning to Washington County Airport (kafj) from huntington tri-state airport (khts) on our final flight of the day. The time was approximately 18:50 local or 23:50 zula and the weather was nine thousand feet overcast, with ten miles visibility and calm wind. I was approaching the airport from the west and selected runway 9 to be out landing runway. The approach to the airport and landing were normal. After landing and deployment of the speed brakes/lift dump, I saw a deer about 700 feet in front of us leaving the runway, traveling from right to left. As we continued our landing roll out three additional deer entered the runway at the same point from the right side of the runway. Two of the deer were able to clear the aircraft path, but the third impacted the left flap. When it was apparent that the deermay not clear our path, I applied full aft movement of the control yoke to lift the aircraft nose wheel off of the runway. I believe the small deer that impacted the flap passed under the nose wheel at a full run but could not clear the flap. The deer impacted the left side flap about thirty-six inches outboard of the left main landing gear. When the aircraft came to a stop on the runway I stowed the lift dump/speed brake lever. This caused the flaps to change position. The left flap is very distorted in shape and subsequently damaged the left side upper speed brake panel.
