What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) During recovery from a practice "power loss at a hover" (hovering autorotaton) the aircraft began to move backwards. The pilot put in too much forward cyclic to stop the movement. The aircraft began a roll to the right on the right main and nose wheel. There was insufficent energy left in the rotor system to allow a recovery before the right rotor blades contacted the pavement. The aircraft settled on to it's right side.
