What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) IGL1920020013-THE flight instructor and commercial pilot rated student were practicing touch and go landings in preparation for a multi-engine certification practical test. During the third takeoff the nose landing gear collapsed, at approximately rotation speed, causing both propellers to strike the runway. The aircraft was rotated and became airborne. The instructor ensured the landing gear selector was in the down position. The landing gear indicator lights were properly indicating three green lights. He then landed the aircraft on the remaining runway. All three landing gear held in position during the landing and subsequent taxi to parking. The aircraft received minor damage to the nose landing gear door and to the propellers. An inspection of the aircraft by maintenance personnel could not establish a mechanical cause for the nose gear collapse. This incident is closed with this report.
