From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While landing on runway 26 left at Brackett field, the pilot attempted to correct for lateral drift in the flare and subsequently lost directional control. The airplane departed the runway surface and impacted a runway light and distance sign. The impact with the sign crushed a 3 foot section of the right wing leading edge at about mid span, outboard of the fuel tank, tearing it from the adjacent wing ribs. The pilot was not injured.
